Dow turns higher, SP 500 cuts losses on Citi

The Dow turned positive and the S&P 500 cut losses on Friday, helped by a jump in Citigroup's (C.N) shares, but the Nasdaq fell on disappointment with results from Google (GOOG.O) and Microsoft (MSFT.O).

The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) gained 8.30 points, or 0.07 percent, to 11,454.96. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX) declined 1.11 points, or 0.09 percent, to 1,259.21. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) shed 32.95 points, or 1.42 percent, to 2,279.35.
